Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS), together with Athi Water have done a complete community water project that is independent and does not depend on the normal water supply in the city.
There has been provision of elevated free-water tanks in high density areas. So far, over 750,000 people from the Nairobi informal settlement areas have benefited from this community water project noting that they have access to clean reliable water supply.
Water has played a major role during this COVID-19 Pandemic and residents in Huruma slums among other areas are enjoying a constant flow of clean water.
